Teachers are leaving the profession in droves and classrooms are going uncovered.
Subsequently, school communities are falling apart and student achievement is decreasing. As full-time educators, we are in the trenches everyday and we’ve seen this problem from the inside.
About Charlie and Leigh
We believe students deserve passionate teachers who love their jobs! We believe that every school district can be a place where teachers thrive and want to work. Happy teachers = achieving students. We are passionate about helping school administrators create the kind of environment where teachers want to teach. With a combined 39 years of classroom teaching experience, we’ve seen a lot! We’ve worked in schools where teachers aren’t happy and want out. We’ve been at schools where teachers feel valued and supported and wouldn’t think of leaving. In both cases, those attitudes shape the culture of the school and consequently, the students’ attitudes toward learning.
As lifelong learners we both hold Masters Degrees in Education and have a passion for teaching and learning. Charlie has taught both Jr. High and High School for the past 23 years and has spent time as an interim administrator in addition to being a conference presenter.
Leigh has taught in the elementary grades for the past 17 years, served as a district math coach and teacher leader, presenter, and most recently was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching by the National Science Foundation and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy in 2020.
When not teaching or speaking you can find us making artisan goat milk soap for friends and family.
